Commencement

This blog commences with the packing up of a house that was once thought to be our dream home.  We bought this home on seven acres of land in upstate New York and had major plans and design dreams of finishing out the basement and creating a beautiful, functional and personalized home just for my growing little family.  Three weeks ago we noticed an odor in the master closet and upon close inspection found blue-green mold growing on everything in the closet.  I recently had a baby four months ago and finally lost all of the baby weight.  All of my pre-pregnancy clothes were in this closet.  Hence, upon losing the weight and deciding on my favorite silk purple LA Made shift to wear to my best friend's graduation, I pulled out the dress to find it completely destroyed as well as all of my shoes, accessories, purses, decorative pillows, linens...I'm sure you get the gist.

And it get's worse.  We had multiple contractors out to the house as well as a loan remediation specialist and once the results were in, we realized that almost all of the walls in our new home were infested with pathogenic mold.  It's everywhere.  And it's not going away.

Here's a look at my beauty that I'm leaving.  Sighs.

So this blog begins as we relocate to a new rental and try to start fresh.  We've lost many of our belongings and a good part of our dignity as well.  But, enough of that sad stuff.  This is my new reincarnation where I get to re-create my home from the ground up, where I get to reinvent my style, take some risks, and hopefully grow as a person in learning to let go (because I've been forced to!) and to find meaning in the struggle and not just the reward.
